KUALA LUMPUR: ANJA Chong secured the gold medal for Malaysia in the women's 500m speed skating at the Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium (MYNISS), Empire City in Damansara Perdana, today. Thailand's Vorravalan Leechinnaphat picked up the silver medal while Cheyenne takes the bronze. In the men's 500m speed skating, De-Vin Wong's dream of a clean sweep of three gold medals in the short track event suffered heart break. Thailand's Triphop Thongngam took the gold medal, Indonesia’s Steavanus Wihsrdja the silver and Malaysia's Mohamad Ariff Rasydan securing the bronze. The men's and women's 1000m and team relay event continues tomorrow.
