A large installation inspired by Māori legends and curated by the art group Mata Aho Collective has won the 2021 Walters Prize. The four strong collective and their collaborator artist Maureen Lander were awarded New Zealand’s largest art prize and $50,000 at a gala at the Auckland Art Gallery on Saturday.
