At least seven people have been killed and five others injured in a spate of violence in Los Angeles County over a 24-hour period, authorities said on Sunday. One died at the scene and the other was in critical condition at a hospital, authorities said. In East Los Angeles, deputies found a man who had been fatally shot lying on the ground on Union Pacific Avenue. A series of shootings kept sheriff's detectives busy from Carson to the San Gabriel Valley until early on Saturday, Los Angles Times quoted authorities as saying. Los Angeles police also responded to a call about a fatal stabbing in Watts, said detective Dave Garrido.
