Human trafficking, people smuggling, modern slavery. I have heard too many shocking stories from victims of human trafficking since I started working on the issue at the Home Office. There was the Polish man in his fifties found on a street in Chiswick, west London. He was raped almost every night by his captors before being sent out in the morning to pickpocket or beg. There was the Nigerian girl who was trafficked to be sold for sex.
