So, how’s this for genius: a quarter added to your money in a single day. Simply by sacking Neil Woodford. It’s the strategy of Woodford Patient Capital Trust. And one that lifted the shares to 38p — even if they’re still rather adrift of the 63¼p net asset value (NAV). It begs an obvious question, too, for the chairwoman Susan Searle: if that’s all it took, why wasn’t she sacking Mr Woodford every day?
