Outstanding big man Shawn Long grabs top two prizes at Breakers awards night MARC HINTONMARC SHANNON/PHOTOSPORT Shawn Long was named a double MVP at the Breakers annual awards night. ​Shawn Long's dazzling, but under-utilised, season with the New Zealand Breakers has been acknowledged with the American big man landing the club's two principal awards. Long picked up the club Most Valuable Player award chosen by the coaching staff and also the season members' MVP gong dished out by the organisation's most committed fans. Point guard Shea Ili was named the club's defensive player of the year, while schoolboy standout Kruz Perrot-Hunt won the rising star award.
