Dannevirke man Joel Perry is on the road to recovery in hospital after being attacked outside a friend's house in London about a month ago. His parents still live in Dannevirke, but Joel had been working as a labourer in London for two years before being assaulted and robbed by a man on his friend's doorstep on June 9. AdvertisementAfter three surgeries, he had not yet been released from King's College Hospital in London said his brother Kent Perry, who lived in Auckland. Kent spoke to Joel on Monday this week and said his brother was still coming to terms with the extent of rehabilitation ahead. Kent said this would be put towards Joel's rehabilitation costs as well as flights home, and further rehabilitation in New Zealand.
