The locals of Gujjar Khan gave a sound thrashing to a religious teacher and shaved his head after finding out that he had allegedly assaulted a teenaged boy in madrassa on Wednesday. The suspect, Abdul Shakoor, was then handed over to the police by the locals. The 14-year-old victim had gathered the courage to inform his father that his teacher abused him at night when other students at the seminary were sleeping. The suspect had also threatened the teenager of dire consequences if he disclosed the incident to anyone. Instead of hiding in shame and holding himself guilty of the abuse, the child opened up before his father and got the alleged perpetrator arrested, Gujjar Khan police said, urging young people to report crime rather than giving the criminals another chance.
