The dead, Abu Daud, 45, was also a former ward-8 member of the Ekdonto Union in Atgharia Upazila. Daud was attacked by a mob and hacked to death around 10pm on Monday on his way home from Shibpur Bazar, said Atgharia Police Station OC Anwarul Islam. He died as he was being taken to the hospital.”Police offered no comment on the identity of the murderers. The death will be investigated, said OC Islam. A case is being prepared at the local police station.
