The Election Commission (EC) has arranged for live webcast from 3,621 polling stations that have been tagged ‘critical’, ‘vulnerable’ or ‘Left wing extremist-affected.’The politically volatile Kannur alone accounts for 1,841 stations from where the proceedings will be webcast live. According to Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena, the commission has arranged for live webcast at 3,621 stations. The live webcasting solutions have been developed by the Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) in association with Keltron to streamline the election process and ensure a smooth and fair election process, Chithra S., director, KSITM, said in a statement on Saturday. ‘‘In order to view and monitor the webcasting, control rooms have been set up at the KSITM head office and in all district collectorates. Respective Election Deputy Collectors and District Project Manager, IT Mission, will coordinate the activities related to webcasting and control rooms in district collectorates,’’ the director said.
