Tickets to the match between the Lions and the Highlanders go on sale to the general public at noon today. Enterprise Dunedin director John Christie said hosting the British and Irish Lions at Forsyth Barr Stadium would be one of the sporting highlights for the city in 2017. Highlanders chief executive Roger Clark said the first meeting of the Lions and the Highlanders was shaping up to be a great contest. The public sale follows a priority period from early October during which thousands of community members (including players, club members, volunteers), season ticket-holders, stadium members and Team All Blacks members snapped up the available allocation of tickets. The Highlanders did not supply the number of tickets the franchise had already sold to the match.
