Foggy start to the day for ChristchurchIt's going to be a wet end to the week for most of the South Island, with thunderstorms possible on the West Coast. MetService predicts a high of 22 degrees Celsius for Christchurch, with rain and strong, cool southwesterlies developing in the afternoon. A Christchurch Transport Operations Centre spokesman advised motorists to keep their lights on and to watch their following distances. Thunderstorms are possible to start the day over on the West Coast. Further south, Timaru is set for a high of 18C with rain and strong southerlies, while Dunedin has a high of 15C.
