Lily Cole has defended her appointment as a “creative partner” in events marking the bicentenary of the birth of Emily Brontë. The actress and model, who has a double first from Cambridge, has been attacked because she is not herself an author. The writer Nick Holland quit the Brontë Society in protest. Miss Cole, 30, is making a short film about Heathcliff, anti-hero of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, to mark the anniversary for the Brontë Parsonage Museum at Haworth in West Yorkshire. They called themselves by the deliberately androgynous names Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell.…
