Plans for a farm near Pulham St Mary to install solar panels have been approved. In November, Ben Ohsten of North Green Farm, North Green Lane, lodged plans with South Norfolk Council, hoping to install 32 solar panels on a strip of land north of a field. Pulham St Mary Parish Council supported the plans, although it preferred panels were installed on roofs and existing buildings. “Councils should refrain from giving planning permission of solar panels on agricultural land as England is no longer secure in food production and using farm land will increase the risk of food shortages,” they added.
