Moderate rainfall and isolated storms are expected around Kenya, the Meteorological department has said. In a one week forecast, Met said the rains are expected mainly over the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley and along the Coastal strip. “The rainfall is likely to occasionally spill over to a few places over the highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County),” Met said. Occasional cool and cloudy conditions (accompanied by light rains) are expected over the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County) and some parts of the South-eastern Lowlands and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley. Strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are expected over some parts of the Coast, the South-eastern Lowlands, the Northwest and the Northeast regions.
