Christchurch's Lancaster Park has been home to cricket, rugby, football, athletics, cycling, trotting and even a few concerts including Pearl Jam, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner and Billy Joel. "Lancaster Park lives on." As the Christchurch City Council project director for Lancaster Park, Butcher oversees the gargantuan operation which includes the removal of 3000 tonnes of material from the site. Butcher, who comes from Wales, was lucky enough to attend a Blues v Crusaders match at Lancaster Park before the February 2011 quake devastated the site. Having worked on about 385 demolition projects in the four years he's been living in Christchurch, Butcher sums up the Lancaster Park gig in a succinct way.
