Emergency Services were called to the crash on SH29. One person has died at the scene of a car and ute collision near Matamata. Emergency Services were called to the crash at 5.15am on Thursday, police said in a statement. The crash involved a car and a ute, Fire and Emergency NZ northern communications shift manager Craig Dally said. The Serious Crash Unit have been advised and will examine the scene.
