The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), al-Siddiq al-Kabir, met Thursday in his office with the Ambassador of Malta to Libya, Charles Saliba. Al-Kabir and Salibia discussed “issues of common interest”, CBL said in a statement on its official Facebook page. This meeting, which is not the first of its kind between al-Kabir and ambassadors of other countries, raised great eyebrows, as hundreds of commentators on CBL’s Facebook post regarding the meeting questioned the relationship between a central bank governor and ambassadors of countries.
