Life insurance company Liberty Life Assurance Kenya has opened its 10th branch in Embu town, as the company expands its footprint and distribution channels in the country. The insurance sector remains market penetration rate remains low at three per cent of the GDP. The branch will serve the Eastern and Central parts of Kenya, where the company is looking to unlock new business opportunities. One of the reasons cited for the this is poor customer relations, leading to lack of trust between clients and insurance companies. The insurance company has set out to increase its market share in sub-Saharan Africa as part of its 2020 strategy, where it seeks to provide products and services that are reliable and accessible to Kenyans, and improve its customer experience through personalised services.
