Liberia’s Information Boss Apologizes For ‘Comments’ Against Journalist -

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has received a letter of apology from Information Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe over comments made to a female journalist. According to a PUL statement, Mr. Nagbe apologized for comments made against the person of Mrs. Estelle Liberty Kemoh of the Infinity Broadcasting Inc., Power FM/TV, on January 24 at the Capitol Building. Mr. Nagbe indicated that he holds the media and the work it does in high esteem. A PUL probe revealed that Mr. Marteh ignored Police safety regulations instituted at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium during the national games. But the PUL insists that journalist Marteh disregard for police crowd control measures did not warrant the brutal force meted against the reporter.
