Arizona has an exceptional process for drawing boundaries for its congressional and legislative districts -- the Independent Redistricting Commission, appointed to review census data and draw new maps once every 10 years. This process is beginning now, with five new commissioners in place. While they wait for the latest census data, they are starting to establish their operating procedures. Now is the time to reinforce that we want and need transparency and accessibility for the public’s voice to be heard. The first two meetings of the commission were widely announced and could be viewed over Zoom.
