Less water, more traffic

In 1960s, the Adambakkam lake was a water source for residents of Nanganallur and surrounding areas. In those days, in Nanganallur, water was available at a depth of ten feet. Now, in most parts of Nanganallur, sinking borewells up to a depth of 500 feet does not yield water. At the height of summer, Metrowater supplies Palar water to residents only once in 15 or 20 days. Traffic congestionBesides water scarcity, traffic congestion is a major problem for residents of Nanganallur.
