In MetroWest and Greater Milford police departments, there are currently 60 female officers, according to a Daily News survey. Our female officers have always been involved in sexual assault investigations. There are many things that can be done, said Kym Craven, executive director of the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives. And, she said, having women as police officers can inspire other women and young girls to become police officers. She said it is doable, but law enforcement officials have to look at different ways to do things.
