The 23-year-old Nigerian had been operating as a makeshift centre back in the absence of the injured Jonny Evans. “It’s unfortunate,” Rodgers told a news conference ahead of Sunday’s league clash against Manchester City. “He’s had a good couple of weeks and I think, for most players, they’re not going to be 100%. I’d still have Jonny Evans at 80% because he’s such a quality player,” Rodgers added.
