CAIRO - 25 September 2020: Cairo Francophone Film Festival will kick off on December 10-14 under the auspices ofEgypt's ministry of culture. The festival main target is to promote cinematic ties as well as launching powerful artistic channels of discussion between filmmakers to encourage artistic and cinematic exchange. Cairo Francophone Film Festival will house multiple cinematic activities such as movies screenings, masterclasses, workshops and meetings with renowned filmmakers. Films produced by International Organisation of La Francophone will compete in the main competition. In 2019, the Higher Committee for Festivals, headed by Egypt's minister of culture Inas Abdel Dayem approved the kick off of the Alexandria Francophone Film Festival, which was planned to kick off in June 2020 in Alexandria but it wasn’t held due to the shutdown resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
