Lehmann tipped to resign as Australia coach

Photo: GettyUnder-fire Australian national team cricket coach Darren Lehmann is reportedly set to resign with immediate effect, as the ball-tampering row escalates in South Africa. According to The Telegraph in London, Lehmann is expected to quit the team in the next 24 hours and it's the reason why Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland has flown to South Africa. Sutherland, who is under immense pressure to strip Smith of the captaincy, will meet Roy and Howard before discussing likely punishments with CA's board. "The Cricket Australia Board has been fully updated on the issue and supports James travelling to South Africa to manage the response to the investigation currently underway. Smith has said coaching staff, including Lehmann, were not aware of the tampering plan.
