KUALA LUMPUR: National men’s singles star Lee Chong Wei got off to a flying start at the Denmark Open when he eased into the second round on Wednesday. The 35-year-old, who is also the seventh seed, needed only 37 minutes to dispatch Spain’s Pablo Abian 21-12, 21-16 in the opening stage in Odense. Chong Wei, who reached the final of the Japan Open last month, played against India’s H.S. For the record, the Malaysian shuttler had won the Denmark Open twice before in 2005 and 2012. In the mixed doubles, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie played China’s Wang Yilyu-Dongping in the second round.
