[Caleb Kingwara, Standard]Operations at Kisii University's Migori Campus were yesterday affected after part-time lecturers downed their tools to push for their salary arrears.According to the lecturers' spokesperson Fredrick Ojode, the arrears amounting to Sh19.3 million have accumulated over the past four years. The over 28 lecturers accused the university of running down the institution, and then refusing to pay them. “In 2014, Kisii University shut down Kehancha and Isebania campuses," said Mr Ojode. While defending his institution, Migori Campus Director Omare Mong’are said the allegations raised by the part-time lecturers were false.
