Add NHL players to the list of people who won’t be crossing the border over the holidays. In a flurry of announcements on Sunday, the NHL and NHLPA agreed to halt cross-border travel through Dec. 23 as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the league and the world. The decision results in 12 additional games being postponed over the next four days involving Canadian teams, including the Leafs’ home game against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday. There had already been 27 games postponed prior to this. As far as any sort of league-wide shutdown, the announcement made clear that is not on the table at this time.
