Lawyers and students taking part in the Anti-discrimination Movement are protesting in front of the High Court to demand the resignation of judges affiliated with the Awami League, who ‘toe the party line’. Lawyers and students from private universities began the protest on the Supreme Court premises at 11am on Wednesday. Anti-discrimination Student Movement activists led by conveners Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah marched into the High Court premises around 12:30pm. Sarjis made a speech saying that students were calling for the resignations of judges connected with Sheikh Hasina, the Awami League, ‘the fascist government’ and ‘partisan’ judges.
