His sentiments were echoed by Civil Society Organisation leaders from Machakos who demanded investigations into the torching of the camp be launched immediately. Members of the Law Society of Kenya South Eastern region have distanced themselves from the Wednesday’s riots that led to the burning of Syokimau AP Camp. In a press briefing in Machakos town yesterday, the regional LSK chair Andrew Makundi said lawyers were not part of the protestors who burnt the camp. As professionals in law, we highly condemn this act and demand action be taken against all those involved”, Makundi said. Makundi condemned the act saying it was a major set back in the investigation of the lawyer’s killing as the camp was a crime scene.
