The Legislative Council Finance Committee today approved the HK$5.4 billion of funding that cash-strapped Ocean Park is seeking to keep it afloat for another year. Thirty-two lawmakers voted in favor, 20 voted against, and two abstained. Some lawmakers had questioned whether the government is pouring money into a bottomless pit. The theme park in Wong Chuk Hang has been closed since January 26 due to the coronavirus epidemic. It had previously sought HK$10.6 billion in funding.
