The minister said that many development works were also hindered due to Justice Sinha. He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had formed the legislative division realizing its necessity for the rule of law. “No law can go outside the purview of this division.”Emphasizing the need for imparting higher training to legislative division officials abroad, Anisul said the ministry would take initiatives in this regard. Justice Sinha resigned as the chief justice in November 2017 following a row with the government after the Supreme Court scrapped the 16th constitutional amendment, stripping the parliament of its power to impeach apex court judges. At an event in Washington DC in September last year, Justice Sinha had also revealed that he sought political asylum in the US.
