A test run of the technology is to be conducted on Apr 9Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has ordered the commercial launch of Starlink's satellite broadband internet service in Bangladesh within 90 days. A press release issued by the Chief Advisor’s Office on Tuesday said that while Starlink will use its foreign satellite broadband gateway for test broadcasting, it will use the local broadband gateway or IIG (International Internet Gateway) in accordance with the NGSO (Non-Geostationary Orbit) policy while providing commercial services in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun said on Sunday that Starlink would conduct a test run in Bangladesh on Apr 9. He said that the InterContinental Dhaka hotel will be under Starlink's coverage during the opening ceremony of the International Investment Conference. Although the conference will commence two days earlier, its formal inauguration is set for Apr 9, with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus presiding over the ceremony.
