They got in the car, accompanied by Mashroor’s cousin Piyal Mahmud, saying they would take it out for a test drive. One of them pulled out a gun and forced Mashroor's cousin Piyal out of the car, threatening to kill him. Mashroor filed a case with the Shahbagh Police Station over the hijacking of the car worth around Tk 8.5 million. He has been named in several car hijacking cases filed with different police stations.
