Australian Border Force confirmed Caleb Maraku, 19, was detained by officers on Friday morning ahead of his deportation to New Zealand. Maraku pleaded guilty to a Surfers Paradise one-punch attack in November, but avoided prison. He laughed as he left Southport Magistrates Court that day, with his behaviour captured by waiting TV news crews.
