The Tripoli-based Libyan prime minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, officially opened Saturday what the owners say is the largest factory for pasta, couscous, and semolina in North Africa. The factory is based at Whiba Holding’s huge Al-Dafnia Complex for Food Industries in Zliten. The Prime Minister praised the complex, describing it as an industrial castle which embodies the private sector in Libya. He stressed the need to support the private sector in Libya for its role in raising the national economy and national local industry, stressing the necessity of its contribution to sustainable social development, training, support and advancement of young men and women.
