KOTA KINABALU: Large cracks have appeared on the road between Tawau and it's airport following a 3.7 magnitude tremor in the east coast district early Friday (Dec 22). Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Pang Yuk Ming said the cracks appeared at two spots some 8m apart, about 18 kilometres from central Tawau. He said the cracks were detected on the road heading from Tawau to the airport and Semporna. He said he had personally seen the cracks while heading to the Tawau airport for an early morning flight to Kota Kinabalu on Friday. The Meteorological Services Department had reported that the 3.23am tremor was centred about 50 kilometres west of Tawau.
