[File]The Ministry of Lands has started the transition to a new lands registration system which will see title deeds issued before the enactment of the Land Registration Act in 2012 cancelled and new ones issued. The Land Registration Act was enacted in 2012 effectively repealing all other land registration statutes such as the Indian Transfer of Property Act, 1882, the Government Lands Act (Cap. 281), the Land Titles Act (Cap. Centralisation of servicesAs a result, all titles issued under the repealed laws will be cancelled and replaced with titles under the Land Registration Act, 2012. To harmonise the process, the Lands Ministry will close all land registers and begin issuing new titles based on a new register.
