Until the Lamborghini Urraco was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in late October 1970, every Lamborghini model had featured a V12 engine. Supplied The Urraco was the first Lamborghini to be (slightly) more accessible to the wider public. At the 1974 Turin Motor Show, Lamborghini introduced the P200 version with reduced displacement (1994cc, 135kW) intended to meet specific tax regulations for the Italian market. As the first Lamborghini to offer fewer than 12-cylinders, the Urraco is seen as the predecessor of the V10-powered Gallardo and current Huracan models. Its original intention of creating greater a wider market for Lamborghini has also been realised in the modern era.
