The San Pablo, Laguna native was a former dean of the Arellano Law School and a distant relative of retired Supreme Court (SC) Justice Arturo Brion and incumbent Supreme Court Justice Alexander Gesmundo. Several members of the judiciary were saddened by the untimely demise of Judge Gesmundo. Court of Appeals Justice Danton Bueser said that a bright man like Gesmundo should have gone up to the Court of Appeals. But instead he said that being an RTC judge is already an honor for me,” Bueser, who hails from the same town as Gesmundo, said. Supreme Court sources said disinfection measures have been implemented at the Calamba RTC.
