Lacson files bill for registry of skilled workers – The Manila Times

SEN. Panfilo Lacson has recently filed a bill mandating all barangay (villages) to create a registry of skilled workers within their respective jurisdiction. In filing Senate Bill (SB) 1380, to be known as “The Barangay Skilled Workers Registry Act,” Lacson explained that registries are developed at the community, state, regional, national and even at the international level as they provide an effective and efficient method for handling multiple types of data. SB 1380 seeks the creation of the skilled workers registry, which shall serve as a repository of information voluntarily declared by the skilled workers for every barangay. Under the bill, the skilled workers must be residents of the barangay where they seek to be registered. The barangay shall make it available to the public by posting a copy of it at the barangay’s bulletin board or in a conspicuous place within the barangay hall.
