Sri Lanka has so far reported over 17,000 corona positive cases and 69 fatalities due to the highly contagious virus. They also expressed concerns over Sri Lanka withdrawing from Geneva Resolution, 30/1 co-sponsored by the previous government in Oct 2015. “In addition to our significant development cooperation, we recall that the EU is a crucial economic partner for Sri Lanka. “Sri Lanka’s withdrawal of support for the United Nations Human Rights Council Resolution 30/1 remains a source of concern. “We are looking forward to continuing our deep engagement with Sri Lanka, in line with our shared international commitments and obligations.”
