LIVE UPDATES: Power outages hit Taiwan


6:45 p.m.: Tatan Power Plant is attempting what basically amounts to a reboot of the six units that tripped, causing the power outages. 6:37 p.m.: We've got confirmation now that the traffic lights outside the Presidential Office, at least, are definitely down. 6:13 p.m.: State-run oil company CPC says the Tatan Power Plant generator may have gone offline because of someone erroneously shutting off an LNG supply valve for two minutes. The Tatan Power Plant failure was the second such problem of the day. 5:50 p.m.: Taiwan was in an energy crisis Tuesday, with power outages reported across the country.
