CEOs have quit Trump's biz council after his too-late condemnation of hate groups

WASHINGTON -- Three top chief executives quit a White House economic council on Monday, as U.S. President Donald Trump continued to draw criticism for belatedly condemning hate groups in the wake of a deadly white supremacist attack in Virginia days earlier. Intel chief executive Brian Krzanich and Kevin Plank, head of athletic wear manufacturer Under Armour, joined Merck chief executive Kenneth Frazier in leaving Trump's American Manufacturing Council. Trump blasted Frazier for the announcement, tweeting, "Now that Ken Frazier of Merck Pharma has resigned from President's Manufacturing Council, he will have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!" A white nationalist rally in Charlottesville had turned violent when a suspected white supremacist allegedly ploughed a car into a group of counter-protesters, killing one woman and injuring 19 others. Later, after another tweet criticizing Merck, Trump posted: "Made additional remarks on Charlottesville and realize once again that the #Fake News Media will never be satisfied...truly bad people!"
