MANILA, Philippines — A number of local government units announced cancelation of classes on Thursday due to the inclement weather brought by Tropical Depression Urduja. Executive chiefs of provinces affected by the tropical depression were forced to suspend classes in all levels in their jurisdictions. Most local government units which canceled classes are located in Bicol region and provinces nearby. In its 10 a.m. advisory, PAGASA warned of scattered to widespread rains over Visayas, provinces of Bicol, Caraga and northern Mindanao within 24 hours. The state weather bureau said the center of "Urduja" is at 120 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar (11.0 °N, 126.8 °E).
