Even though he readily admits that the 2011 World Youth Champion’s level of play is almost the same as that of the national players under the BA of Malaysia (BAM), Chong Wei feels Zulfadli’s fitness level still is not good enough. We need to see if he (Zulfadli) can or cannot follow the national team’s training schedule and regime. “I think BAM and the coaches would be more than willing to welcome Zulfadli to join in on training with the national squad. “Out there as a professional, he does not have enough training and sparring partners, whereas at BAM it’s all there,” said Chong Wei. Based on ranking, Zulfadli is the country’s third best singles player being World No 44 behind Chong Wei (2) and Zii Jia (42).
