L-G reviews progress on sanitation in city


more-inLieutenant Governor Anil Baijal reviewed the progress of the Swachh Bharat Mission and specific functions of the Capital’s civic bodies here on Tuesday. Progress of the installation of water ATMs was reviewed by the L-G even as he directed the Deputy Commissioners of the three Municipal Corporations to monitor the progress of construction of public and community toilets and focus on maintenance of parks and open gyms. According to a statement from Raj Niwas, the status of civic issues relating to the Swachh Bharat Mission, cashless and digital transactions, mechanical sweeping of roads, construction of new community toilets and public toilets, maintenance of parks were reviewed at the meeting. Also part of the discussion was the involvement of RWAs in monitoring cleanliness of roads, public places and dhalaos, display of public notices and uniform signages, development of parking lots and multi-level parking, installation of water ATMs. “On the status report of construction of household toilets, community toilets and public toilets, the L-G directed the Deputy Commissioners of the three civic bodies to monitor the progress to ensure time-bound and quality construction,” said a senior government official.
