Kuria, Muthama freed on Sh300,000 bond each in hate speech cases

Politicians Moses Kuria and Johnson Muthama have been released on cash bails of Sh300,000 or bonds of Sh500,000 each. Kuria's lawyer Cliff Ombeta had asked the court to grant him free bail arguing the prosecution has no case. But the prosecution opposed the application saying Kuria faced "serious charges against his character". The politicians were both arrested on Monday over several charges including hate speech.
