SEREMBAN: A 35-year-old kuih seller claimed trial at the Sessions Court here on Monday (Aug 20) to two counts of using counterfeit RM100 bills to buy durians earlier this month. For the first charge, the accused had allegedly handed over four fake RM100 bills with the serial number BV9901303 to Madzar Abd Aziz, 59, although he knew these were counterfeits. For the second charge, Ridzuan had apparently handed over two RM100 counterfeit bills with the same serial number to Rosli Ahmad, 56, six days later. Deputy public prosecutor Norshazwani Ishak then urged the court to set a high bail due to the seriousness of the alleged offences. Ramesh fixed bail at RM18,000 with one surety for both the charges and set Sept 20 for remention.
